Magnesium sulphate 25% magniject

Magniject 25% is a solution injection is for the treatment of hypomagnesaemia (low serum magnesium concentration) in cattle and sheep 

Active Ingredient: Magnesium Sulphate Heptahydrate 25.0% w/v

Dosage:
Cattle up to 400ml
Sheep up to 75ml

Administration: By subcutaneous injection only

Withdrawal:
Meat Zero Days
Milk Zero Days.

Contraindications, Warnings etc
Do not administer intravenously. Observe aseptic precautions. For single use only. Warm to body temperature before administration. Massage injection site. For subcutaneous injection only. Should any apparent growth or discolouration occur the product should be discarded.

Pharmaceutical Precautions
Store below 25°C. This product does not contain an antimicrobial preservative. Any solution remaining in the vial following withdrawal of the required dose should be discarded.

What is Grass Tetany?
An animal will get Grass tetany because of a magnesium deficiency, which can occur in livestock such as beef cattle, dairy cattle and sheep, Grass tetany usually occurs after grazing on pastures of rapidly growing grass and is most prone to happen in early spring.

Symptoms of Grass Tetany
grazing away from the herd, irritability, muscle twitching, staring, incoordination, staggering, collapse, thrashing, head thrown back, coma, followed by death

Treatment of Grass Tetany
Subcutaneous injection of magnesium sulfate e.g.: Magniject 25%
