Copper guard

Copper Guard is a long acting, slow releasing nutritional supplement of copper with added selenium in a bolus. Lasts up to 6 months.

Contains: Copper and Selenium

Target Species: Cattle over 200kg

Dosage and administration:
Cattle 200-300 kg: 1 bolus                  Cattle over 300 kg: 2 boluses
Administer orally by using a bolus gun, taking care not to damage the cow’s mouth or throat. Always read the label. Bolus lasts up to 6 months.  Avoid simultaneous use of other sources of trace elements. Before use, seek advice from a vet or nutritionist regarding herd trace element status and balance of trace elements in daily ration.

How to administer a bolus:            
- Restrain your animal (eg with a chute that has a head gate) to minimise chance of injury to yourself or the animal. Make sure animals head is elevated.
- Load your bolus into the gun. If loading a few at the one time always make sure gel bolus’ are loaded last as the heat can melt the gel cap and stick to the gun.
- Stand to the side of the animals head, using your side to place its head on and place arm over the muzzle and grasp the opposite lip and rise the head.
- Stroking the roof of the mouth will encourage the animal to open wider.
